UK students confronted by gunman in apartment

Two UK Students say a gunman forced his way into their apartment. The crime happened early Tuesday morning on Red Mile Road.

Lexington Police say the man held the students at gunpoint inside their apartment and demanded cash from them.

Eventually, one of the students was able to run into a bedroom. His roommate then scared the gunman off.

The gunman left empty-handed. No one was hurt.

Police do not have a good description of the gunman. At this point, investigators believe the man was able to get into the apartment through an unlocked door.
