Rounds of showers and thunderstorms could cause issues across the region Saturday. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) He's made it his mission to attend as many homes games as possible and has had the same football tickets for 52 years!
UK football players, coaches and talent come and go but one avid fan we met Saturday has one thing that UK football doesn't always have----consistency.
“We have just really enjoyed it we have been fans all these years and we hate to give it up,” said Ed Adams, who has been coming to UK football games for half a century.
91 years young and Ed Adams' long standing dedication to UK football hasn't wavered once.
“In 1961, I was able to get season tickets on the 51 yard line and I have had those four tickets ever since.”
Ever since, it's been his mission to make it to as many UK home football games as possible.
“I’ve made at least 90 percent of them.”
“We make it to nearly all of the home games,” said Ed’s daughter, Melanie.
What’s even more impressive is that Ed and his daughter Melanie don't even live in Kentucky!
These True Blue fans drive six and a half hours from North Carolina to attend home games.
“During the past six or seven years, my dad and I have made it our mission to come to the games. We drive to Kentucky on Friday, go to the game on Saturday and go back home to North Carolina on Sunday,” Melanie shared with us.
“All these years I’ve really enjoyed every minute of it,” Ed told us at Commonwealth Stadium before Saturday’s game.
When asked what coming to the football games means to her father, Melanie simply replied, “everything.”
Despite the outcome of Saturday’s UK game vs. Alabama, Ed says he will never stop rooting for the boys in blue and white.
