UK to offer online master's degree in art admin

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - An online master's degree in arts administration will be available at the University of Kentucky beginning next fall.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/VMLEDQ) reports that officials called the program one of the first in the nation at a public university when it announced the offering this week. The 36-hour program will cover management, marketing, fundraising, law, finances and entrepreneurship.

Michael Tick, dean of the College of Fine Arts, says the arts sector is growing and will need new leaders.

Program Director Michael Braun says all students accepted into the program will pay in-state tuition.

The announcement comes as UK is trying to expand its online offerings.
