LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - University of Kentucky trustees are set to approve a spending plan for the coming year.
The proposed $2 billion-plus budget comes before the trustees' finance committee Tuesday morning on the Lexington campus.
The full board of trustees is scheduled to vote on the budget later in the day.
The spending plan includes a 3 percent tuition increase for in-state, undergraduate students. That would be the lowest tuition increase in 15 years at the state's flagship university. The plan includes a 6 percent tuition increase for out-of-state undergraduates.
UK President Eli Capilouto has said he hopes to provide a pool of money in the next budget for a merit-based pay raise of 5 percent for faculty and staff.
