UK's McCorvey interviewed for deans post in North Carolina

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The head of UK's opera program is interviewing for a job in North Carolina.

Dr. Everett McCorvey is one of three finalist for the dean of the school of music, theatre and dance at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Dr. McCorvey is interviewing for the post on Tuesday and Wednesday. He is the last of the three candidates to be screened.

The other candidates are Peter Alexander, the recently retired dean of the Jordan College of Fine Arts at Butler University and Sara Baird, chair of the department of music at Auburn University.

Dr. McCorvey has worked at UK for 21 years, he currently serves as an endowed chair in opera studies, professor of voice and is the director of the UK Opera Theatre.
