LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- It was a joyous reunion Andrew Lucas feared wouldn't happen.
"Completely happy!" Lucas exclaimed. "If it wasn't for your news channel showing the story, then the lady who did have Cletus wouldn't have been able to get him back home and I'm just grateful."
Cletus, a therapy dog, helps Lucas daily. Lucas has suffered from a bone disease his entire life and has had multiple hip surgeries. He rescued Cletus several months ago and Lucas got him trained, so he wouldn't have to use a cane. He says Cletus rescued him right back.
"Very grateful," Lucas said.
"We knew he had a loving home," Jackie Knight, who found the dog, said.
Jackie's mother found Cletus along South Broadway near Pine where Lucas lives. They spent much of the day posting Cletus on Facebook looking for his home.
"My friend Hayley said 'You'll never guess what I saw on tv!'We were thrilled to pieces!"
Lucas said "I told her to hold out the phone and I do this thing where I get him to bark and he barked. And I knew. She pulled his picture off WKYT.com."
"I was so happy. So happy to bring him back to where he belongs;" Knight said.
There was a $5,000 reward for the dogs safe return, but the Knights declined.
