MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The victim in a deadly Madison County crash has been identified.
The Madison County coroner tells WKYT that 21-year-old Jeremy Scott Owens of Winchester was killed in the crash early Saturday morning on Kentucky 627, also known as Boonesborro Road, near I-75.
Three others were involved in the crash and were transported to UK Medical center for treatment. The extent of their injuries is still unknown at this time.
The Madison County Sherriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
The road was blocked off in both directions following the accident, which happened about five in the morning.
"They speed through here," explained Nany Bowen, who lives near the accident scene.
While police haven't said what caused the crash, they do say the sad circumstances should serve as a reminder to everyone who gets behind the wheel.
"Pay attention," Deputy Kevin Cornett of the Madison County Sheriff's Office said candidly at the scene. "Pay attention to what you're doing and what others are doing."
