A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - US Airways and American Airlines are adding a new service from Philadelphia to Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.
The two airlines announced Thursday plans to add a new regional service from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Blue Grass Airport (LEX). Passengers will be able to book one of the flights starting Saturday, March 8th for the service beginning on June 5th.
"We're thrilled to announce new non-stop service from our Philadelphia hub to this key city in Kentucky, highlighting American's ongoing commitment to the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection," said Joe Taney, vice president, Philadelphia Operation. "Today's news gives our customers even more choices and adds to more than 120 non-stop destinations we currently serve from our international gateway at PHL."

"We have been working to obtain non-stop service to Philadelphia for several years and we know our business community will really benefit from the convenience. US Airways Express flights between Philadelphia and Lexington will be offered three times a day.
