US begin drills with South Korea

Posted: Mon 6:55 AM, Mar 11, 2013

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Some 10,000 South Korean and 3,000 American troops are taking part in military drills as they closely monitor Pyongyang.

North Korea regularly claims the annual practice is in preparation for an invasion, but the North is signaling more worries after last week's U.N. vote to impose more sanctions on the communist nation.

North Korea has warned its southern neighbor of a nuclear war said it was cancelling nonaggression pacts.
