The University of Kentucky is among the schools that decided to call off classes for the day.

Our crews did not see a lot of students walking around Monday morning, but they did see several road crews.

They are scraping roads, trying to clear them quickly. University crews are also trying to clear sidewalk entrances into main buildings around campus. Students willing to brave the temperatures Monday morning were being very careful.

"It was brutal. It was like walking in sand. Like a beach. Which is something I'm actually used to," explained graduate student Billy Mattingly of his morning walk to campus.

UK Healthcare hospitals and clinics remain open. Employees working under Plan B are required to come in as well.
