VP debate at Centre to cover foreign, domestic

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The format for the vice presidential debate to be held in October at Centre College in Danville has been announced.

The non-profit Commission on Presidential Debates says the Oct. 11 debate will cover both foreign and domestic topics over 90 minutes.

It will be divided into nine segments of approximately 10 minutes each.

The moderator will ask an opening question and each candidate will then have two minutes to respond. The rest of the time in the segment will be used for discussion.

The debate will be the only one this year for the vice presidential candidates. There will be three presidential debates during October.

Centre College also hosted the 2000 vice presidential debate.
