Updated: Tue 8:49 PM, Jun 19, 2012

Former President Abraham Lincoln is portrayed as a vampire hunter in a film that opens in theaters this Friday.

In the movie, President Lincoln discovers vampires are planning to take over the United States and he goes on a mission to eliminate them.

The movie is expected to be a blockbuster hit this summer and the faces behind all the prop designers are from right here in Kentucky.

Frank House, originally from south central Kentucky, and Steve Auvenshine, from Lexington, have been working in the industry for years. However, their passion for prop design and weaponry stated years ago.

"Playing out at my brothers gun shop, I was literally twelve, thirteen, fourteen years old," explains House.

Auvenshine, who is a retired state police officer, started making knives years ago.

the duo, along with House's wife Lallee, have made a variety of weapons, armory, guns and other props for multiple Hollywood hits.
Their latest work can be seen on the set of Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Hunter.

"If you've seen the trailer you know that the ax slides up off the ax and turns into a gun, well Frank built that gun," explains Auvenshine, "he built it from scratch and it's a firing gun, I mean you could deer hunt with it."

"It is a neat story and just watching the trailer even in the trailer I remember those seconds, those scenes, it is just so fun."

The two just finished up working on another movie, Beautiful Creatures, they say it's like Twilight but with witches.
