SALT LICK, Ky (WKYT) - People who live along Vanlandingham Road say they've had a problem with vandalism for a few months now. Last night someone left cans of paint on the road, where drivers hit them.
"I thought it was insane, I was like 'Who on earth could do this?'" said Jennifer Goodpaster. She lives on the road and says she had to clean up broken glass Monday night just to get home.
She says that for the past few months garbage has been dumped in the ditches, and someone has then thrown that garbage into the road.
It started with broken bottles that left some drivers with flat tires but last night they encountered an even bigger mess.
A few weeks ago paint cans were dropped off on the side of the road. Monday night someone threw those cans, full of paint, into the middle of the road.
"People are driving up on it. There's no way to turn around here. Last night it took us twenty minutes to back up because we had so much glass behind us," Goodpaster said.
The Bath County Sheriff's department was called out after drivers began going through the paint, spreading it along the road and splashing it on their cars.
Goodpaster says people living along the road are planning to report any suspicious activity to the police.
"I just don't want to risk a flat tire or paint. It's crazy, you don't even know which way you can go out anymore," she said.
