Victim helps police ID suspect

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight, we're tracking the search for a man suspected of stealing thousands of dollars in equipment from a man's bar.

The barn is secluded on Ryans Creek Road, but that did not keep thieves from getting to Andrew Meadors personal items.

The property owner, Andrew Meadors says, "Insulated panels were stacked up, about this high, two wide about an inch and a half and on top of the, we're some fluorescent lights and they took those but left the bulbs."

It has not happened to him before, but Meadors says he jumped into action when the thieves were at it again not even 24hrs after they were hit the first time.

"I jerked on pants, just grabbed a hat, grabbed my keys and ran out to the vehicle and started up and took off down the road," Meadors said.

Thousands of dollars worth of farming equipment, steel, and car parts were stolen, but to Meadors it's all much more than that.

"The tobacco setter that they stole really meant a lot to us because it belonged to my grandpa."

Meadors says he's happy some things were found but can't help but feel different in his own home.
