LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man driving on Richmond Road spotted his stolen car.

The man's Toyota Camry was stolen back on July 15. On Friday afternoon, the man spotted his car heading in the opposite direction on Richmond Road. He was able to turn around and follow it. He also called 911.

Police caught up with the car and tried to stop the suspect. But officers say the suspect took off.

"They were getting it just like Dale Junior and did a 'Dukes of Hazzard' right into this telephone pole," said Sgt. Jack Roberts with the Lexington Police Department.

After hitting a telephone pole, the people inside the stolen car hopped out and took off. Police are still searching for them.
