Vigil held for Lexington murder victim

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Thursday night, friends of a man Lexington police say died after being shot in his car gathered to remember him.

Derek Pelphrey, 23, died Tuesday night.

He was shot at the intersection of Ridgepoint Run and Spangler Drive.

A vigil was held for him at that intersection.

Friends say Pelphrey will be missed.

"He was a really good kid and he never did anything wrong, just a good guy all around. He wouldn't hurt a fly," said Kevin Moody a friend of the victim's.

Lexington police charged Trustin Jones with murder and Robert Guernsey with complicity in this case.

Both men plead not guilty to those charges on Thursday.
