LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Presenters of the latest Fayette Mall renovation plans, which were submitted Wednesday afternoon, say the changes from the last layout are minor.
Even so, a planning and zoning sub-committee still had questions regarding anything from parking, to the utilization of the renovated structures.
It's a major renovation, and creation of retail and restaurant space involving one of Lexington's major shopping stops.
CBL and Associates Properties purchased the space now occupied by Sears, including the space in the parking lot where a garage and service center are now.
Developers are hoping to begin the renovation and construction project once Sears is out, but have added that it will not begin until after the holiday season.
With the recent changes to the plans involving some parking spaces, and some other questions committee members had about pedestrian access during the holidays, and how the space where Sears is now will be defined, the committee said they wanted to hear more.
The committee decided to postpone voting on the new plans for the time being.
