LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - For the first time since 2005, Fayette County PVA says home sales are on the rise. David O'Neill says sales are steadily increasing on home across the board, including everything from starter homes to million-dollar mansions. It is still a buyer's market.
"There's a lot of inventory out there. People have been holding on to their houses for awhile because they were afraid they wouldn't get what they wanted to get, or perhaps they hadn't lived there very long so there's a lot of inventory out there."
Lexington Realtor Christine Hall says Lexington's market is mirroring many markets across the nation.
"It's picked up considerably. In fact, over the last about nine or ten months it's really picked up. But I think people are feeling a little bit of stability."
