Bands of light snow are working across the region. These can put down some light accumulations on the grass and elevated surfaces.
We have many things to talk about today, but lets start with the heat. Very warm temperatures move in as highs will be from 88°-92°! Not only with the temperatures be up, but the moisture will rise too. That will make it feel very sticky this afternoon. This is all ahead of a potent system that will be swinging in the region this evening and into the overnight hours.
Storms will no doubt be strong, but some severe weather can be expected as well. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but hail and isolated tornadoes are threats as well. I'd go ahead and hook those weather radios up right now before you forget. It always increases the risk when you have storms moving in during the night. The best chance will be I-64 and northbound. Nevertheless as we head into the morning hours on Thursday we will start to see a few storms for the southern zones.
Rain works out of the region heading into the afternoon/evening hours on Thursday. That will give way to a very nice Friday with highs in the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies. The weekend will be warmer with highs in the 80s while staying dry on Saturday, but a chance of afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday.
