Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Our Sunday remained on the dry side for most folks across Central & Eastern Kentucky. The rest of the evening and nighttime hours look basically the same. Maybe some patchy fog during the early morning hours on Monday.
We'll see a few showers and thunderstorms develop during the afternoon and evening hours on Monday. These have more of a summer look due to the spotty nature. Again, I think most of us will stay on the dry side. The heat will crank it up quite a few notches too. Most areas will see highs around the mid and even some upper 80s.
The midweek set-up is grabbing more of my attention. A frontal boundary will slip into the area and ignite storms. The big question that continues to bug me is where will the front become stationary. That will mean the difference between some slightly cooler air with scattered showers and storms or more widespread rounds of storms with a little more heat. Still plenty of time to nail that down.
