Wayne Co. High School provides extra security after 'prank list'

Updated: Thu 7:01 PM, Feb 14, 2013

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. -- Students were greeted with extra security at Wayne County High School today.

WKYT's Phil Pendleton reported that the protection was prompted by a list of dares that had begun circulating through the community. Supposedly, students came up with the list that challenged other students to perform dangerous, illicit, and often illegal acts.

Parents flooded the WKYT newsroom today with their concerns, after it was discovered that one of the dares had something to do with bringing a gun to the school.

The superintendent assured us that the schools there were safe and nothing has happened... nor did they expect anything to happen.

Police are continuing to investigate, but there has been no report of any arrests. School officials said that if the students behind the list are caught, they will face criminal charges.
