Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Overall we are looking at a fairly decent day weather wise with just a couple of afternoon thunderstorms in the forecast. Highs today should be slightly warmer as we near 90°. The majority of us will stay below that mark, but it will feel like 90°+ due to the moisture out there.
Wednesday is the day to talk about as we see a strong disturbance move southbound from the Ohio River Valley. This will give us the chance at strong to severe storms from Wednesday afternoon-Wednesday night. The main threats will be damaging winds and hail. These storms should weaken as we move into the overnight hours. The area with the greatest threat will be west of I-75.
Starting Thursday we will see decreasing temperatures through the weekend. Afternoon isolated storms will remain in the forecast, but we will see temperatures nearing 80° by the end of the weekend.
