ELKTON, Ky. (AP) - A western Kentucky police officer has been injured when a car hit him as he was assisting with a wreck.

Kentucky State Police say 36-year-old Elkton Officer Brian E. Atkinson of Hopkinsville was knocked down on U.S. 68 East at 7:15 a.m. CDT Thursday where he was investigating a two-vehicle, non-injury crash.
