WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - A southern Kentucky 911 center was evacuated early Tuesday morning because of an electrical fire.
Workers at the Whitley County dispatch center at the Williamsburg airport said a blower motor for an air conditioning unit started smoking. As a result, everyone there was forced outside the building for around an hour while the fire department investigated.
No one was hurt and there was no damage done to the office.
Dispatchers say that during that time, all emergency calls were transferred to other agencies.
