Whitley man injured thawing pipes now out of the hospital

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Whitley county man, injured after a beam fell on him underneath a home, was released from the hospital Friday.

We're told Roy Thomas was trying to thaw out a frozen water line at the home on Shelby Hurst road, when the beam collapsed on top of him.

Rescuers managed to free Thomas. He was airlifted to the University of Tennessee hospital with life-threatening injuries.

As of Friday afternoon, Thomas was released. He is expected to make a full recovery.
