A widow says she's outraged the man convicted of killing her husband will soon be up for parole. She's doing everything she can to stop his early release.

Melissa Sturgill's husband Mark died two years ago, and she still remembers the night like it happened yesterday. She says her teenage son was the first to run up to his dying father.

"He hasn't slept well since that night. Had to take him out of school, put him in therapy, put him on medicine and the thought of Mr. Collier being paroled has just brought all that back," explains Sturgill.

After her husband's death, a judge sentenced Sturgill's neighbor Samuel Todd Collier to ten years in jail for shooting and killing him. Not even half way into Collier's sentence, Melissa Sturgill says he'll appear before a parole board, and she's afraid he could come back to his old home.

"If he were to be paroled, my children and I most likely probably have to move from the place that we've lived all of our lives."

To prevent her family from living in fear, Sturgill is doing all she can to keep Collier in prison. She started a facebook page, Justice for Mark Sturgill, and she's asking friends and people living in Jenkins to sign a petition she'll present to the parole board next month.

"Death is forever. There's no percentage on death. There shouldn't be a percentage on his sentence. It should be the ten years,"says Sturgill.
