WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - A group of about 30 people in Clark County spent the afternoon honoring veterans buried at the Winchester Cemetery.

The group restored dozens of veteran's markers to their original shine. The local clean up effort is part of a national group called "Mission: Restore Bronze."

"The reason I'm cleaning the markers for people I don't know is because they did something for me that I can't even understand," said organizer Anthony Long. "they went to war and came home when it was done. The least I could do is spend a few hours here."

The group cleaned about 30 markers on Memorial Day.
