Damaging winds possible this afternoon and evening

A strong cold front is currently pushing into central Kentucky and will cause our winds to increase. Gusts of 50-60mph will be possible for the rest of the afternoon into the evening. I'm already getting reports of trees down and some damage from western Kentucky and suspect we will see damaging winds in central and eastern Kentucky.

Temps will drop like a rock this evening with snow showers and squalls kicking in tonight and Friday. A coating to 2" will be possible for many areas and I expect roads to be slick early Friday.

Winds will continue to be gusty and this may create some blowing snow. Keep checking back for updates and be sure to join us on WKYT-TV for live updates each hour.
