Wind, falling trees cause damage in Pulaski Co.

Updated: Wed 7:27 PM, Jan 30, 2013

Ferguson, Ky. (WKYT) - Strong winds blew through Pulaski county Wednesday morning, knocking over trees and causing some property damage.

NWS officials have confirmed an EF-0 tornado did touch down in Pulaski County, with wind speeds around 65mph.

A house in Ferguson was hit by a falling tree and parts of a tree destroyed an outbuilding in the same community. Emergency officials say the damage was spread over the entire county, especially on Kentucky 192.

But, as bad as it was, people know it could have been much worse.

"I'm blessed by God because it could have... would have crushed my house," says Steven Davis of Ferguson. "If it fell another 10 to 15 feet, myself and my son would have been in deep trouble."

Despite the widespread damage, Pulaski emergency officials reported no injuries as a result of the storm.
