Winter Storm Update

Posted: Tue 3:32 PM, Dec 25, 2012

A developing winter storm will blast the bluegrass state tonight through early Thursday. This storm will bring rain, snow, ice and wind to much of the region.

The action gets started tonight with a nasty mix across the north and rain in the south. This mix may cause slick travel for some areas. Most areas will see that change to a cold rain early Wednesday before going back to snow late Wednesday into Wednesday night.

That's when accumulating snow appears to be a good bet for much of central and eastern Kentucky. Winds during this time will gust to between 30 and 40mph.

If you are traveling into western Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio... Blizzard Warnings are out for those areas.
