Winter Weather Advisory continues through early Friday morning

Updated: Thu 11:45 PM, Feb 21, 2013

A Winter Weather Advisory is now out for many areas of the bluegrass state into the overnight hours. A wintry mix of sleet, snow, freezing rain and rain is falling across much of the Bluegrass tonight.

Some light icing is possible for the areas along and north of Interstate 64 from Louisville to Lexington and north of the Mountain Parkway in eastern Kentucky.

Temps will rise quickly by Friday morning and thermometers will surge well into the 50s during the day on a gusty southwesterly wind. A leftover shower will be possible.

The rest of the weekend will find colder air filtering in for Saturday as a big storm cranks along the east coast. That could throw a chilly shower into our region at some point during the day. A chilly wind will blow as highs come down into the upper 30s and low 40s for Saturday with mid and upper 40s Sunday.
