A Winter Weather Advisory is now out for much of the region tonight which includes the Lexington metro.

Light snow will develop from west to east late this evening into tonight. A coating to 2" will be possible across central and eastern Kentucky.

The higher totals look to be located close to the Interstate 64 corridor.

Slick roads are likely to develop overnight into Wednesday morning.

Gusty winds and bitterly cold air blows in behind the snow. Readings by morning will be close to 10 degrees with a wind chill dropping below 0 at times.

Highs Wednesday will struggle to get out of the low 20s, but it will feel like single digits for most of the day.

Another shot of light snow is possible by late Friday.
