Winter returns to Kentucky

Posted: Mon 2:23 PM, Jan 14, 2013

Winter has returned to the bluegrass state. Temps today barely made it out of the 20s for many areas. A stalled out front to our south and east will allow for a couple of waves of low pressure to move along it. This will throw a wintry mix of moisture into central and eastern Kentucky tonight. Temps overnight will hold in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees.

The next system will move through late Tuesday into Wednesday with another round of a wintry mix. There is even the chance for another storm system to impact southern Kentucky on Thursday.

A blast of arctic air will likely move into the state this weekend and last through next week. This could bring some of the coldest temps we've seen in a while.
