Winter storm barrels through the Bluegrass state

Updated: Fri 12:52 PM, Jan 25, 2013

A Winter Weather Advisory is now out for much of central and eastern Kentucky through 2pm. An Ice Storm Warning is now in effect till 11pm for Bell, Clay, Harlan, Knox, Laurel, Leslie, McCreary, Pulaski, Wayne, Whitley, Owsley.

We are seeing the freezing rain/snow/sleet move out of the region and all is clear for everyone by 6 pm. With that said, even though the precipitation will be over with, the roadways will still be awful. Especially for the southern zones where we are looking at roadways that a beyond dangerous. We have had MANY reports of roads being slippery, so try to stay inside if you can. The weekend looks mostly dry, but on the chilly side with highs in the 20s and 30s.
