Winter won't go away

Posted: Tue 1:56 PM, Mar 12, 2013

I wish I had better news to deliver to all those who have a serious case of spring fever. Unfortunately, it appears winter still has some more punches to throw our way before we can get into springtime. One of those punches comes tonight and Wednesday.

That’s when another cold front drops in from the northwest. This front will deliver even colder air than what we have out there today. Readings Wednesday will stay in the low and middle 30s for much of the state, with gusty winds making it feel much colder.

Snow showers and flurries will be dancing around into much of Tomorrow and I can’t rule out a rooftop coating for parts of the region.

Thursday has the chance to start in the upper teens for a few spots as the cold continues. There is a weak system diving in from the northwest by Thursday evening and that may bring a rain or snow shower our way.

Temps will rebound closer to normal for Friday into the coming weekend. But, it won’t be pretty. A weak front looks to hang across the region and deliver us the chance for scattered showers.
