Winter returns to Kentucky

John Gay loaded groceries as the snow began falling on Paris this afternoon, but he didn't mind too much.

"I'm happy with the winter we've had. It's been a long time since we've had a winter like this," he says.

He says he's not a fan of cold weather and snow.

"You know, when it gets cold and starts freezing on the road. That's when you have to really be careful," says Gay.

With snowfall being so rare this winter, Gay says people in Bourbon County should feel lucky.

"I've told people, every day that you get like we've had, that's one more day of bad weather that you don't have," he says.

But he also says, he thinks the winter of 2012 may still have a few surprises.

"Well, I have a feeling the weather has a way of balancing itself out. We may have more winter in February and on into March than what a lot of people think. You never know," says Gay.

Workers with the Bourbon County Road Department say they have equipment on standby ready to clear the roads in case the snow starts piling up.
