Woman airlifted to hospital after crash on I-75

Updated: Wed 11:41 PM, Sep 26, 2012

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman had to be flown to the hospital after a bad crash on Interstate 75 between a car and a tractor trailer.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes, just north of Exit 83 in Richmond.

Investigators tell us a Mustang drove underneath the tractor trailer.

They're still trying to figure out how that happened.

Emergency crews had to lift the tractor trailer off the car, before rescuing the driver inside.

The driver was flown to the hospital, but we do not have her condition right now.

Emergency crews are not sure how long the northbound lanes of I-75 will be closed at the scene of the crash.

We'll continue to track this story, and have the latest tomorrow morning beginning at five on WKYT.
