Woman assaulted during attempted Lexington robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are looking for two men they say attacked a woman during an attempted robbery.

It happened just before 11:00 p.m. Monday night at an apartment on Augusta Drive.

Police say after hearing someone knocking, the woman opened her door and two masked men forced their way inside.

One of the men, police say, used a gun to hit the woman in the head. Police say they took off without stealing anything, but they also fired a shot outside the apartment as they left.

The woman was not seriously injured. Police have a limited description of the masked men.
