Woman attacked in theft attempt

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - An investigation is underway after police say two men attacked a woman, and tried to steal her purse.

It happened early Wednesday morning, at the intersection of North Keeneland Drive and Keystone Drive in Richmond.

Police say two men came up to the woman while she was walking, and one of them then asked for a cigarette.

Police say the other man suddenly punched the woman in the face, knocking her to the ground.

Both men then tried to grab her purse, but couldn't, so they ran off.

The woman was not seriously injured. Police have not made any arrests.
