A woman is facing multiple charges after police say she led them on a chase through two counties.

The Nicholasville Police Department attempted to pull over a car, near Main Street and Edgewood Drive, that would not stop. Deputies from the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office were called to assist.

Officers who were trying to stop the car say that the driver ran a red light to get onto the Bypass, and then led them on a chase for several miles down U.S. 27. The car finally stopped after reaching Garrard County.

The driver, who police identified as 20-year old Shawna Fuston of Williamsburg, was arrested. She is in the Jessamine County Detention Center charged with disregarding a traffic light, fleeing and evading police (two counts), wanton endangerment (two counts), speeding, failure to illuminate head lamps (two counts), reckless driving (two counts), wanton endangerment of a police officer, and following another vehicle too closely.
