Woman indicted in boyfriend's shooting death

NEWPORT, Ky. (AP) - A 21-year-old Lexington woman has been indicted in the fatal shooting death of her boyfriend two months ago in his Highland Heights condominium.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports Shayna Hubers was indicted Thursday on one count of murder in Campbell County.

Police say Hubers shot 29-year-old Ryan Poston, a lawyer in Cincinnati, from across his kitchen table. Police say the gun was owned by Poston, an avid target shooter. Poston started his own law practice in May.

Hubers remained at the county jail Thursday on no bond.

Her attorney, Wil Zevely, has said she acted in self-defense. Hubers told authorities that she had been arguing with Poston and he had become verbally abusive.

She will be arraigned Jan. 16 in Campbell Circuit Court.
