A dynamic system will cross the state over the next few days and deliver another big rain event. This could cause flash flooding across parts of the state.
OWSLEY CO, Ky. (WKYT) - A young woman is dead from a Sunday afternoon crash.
We're told two cars crashed on Highway 30 in the Lee-Rose community of Owsley county, killing one woman.
We're told a pick-up truck was heading east on Route 30 and side swiped a car heading the other direction towards Booneville.
The truck went over an embankment and hit a sycamore tree-- and is described as demolished.
It was one of the worst wrecks Coroner Eddie Issacs has ever seen.
He says 23 year old Whitney Roberts from Owsley County was pronounced dead 4:58 p.m. on Sunday.
She was in the passenger seat and her father was driving.
Her dad was flown out and he suffered serious injuries.
Coroner Issacs says her exact cause of death still needs to be determined.
"Multiple injuries to the 23 year old female. The funeral home has taken her. They'll be doing a toxicology report to find out if alcohol or drugs were involved," Isaacs says.
The condition of the people in the car is unknown, but not as severe as the people in the truck.
The Owsley County Sheriff and Kentucky State Police are reconstructing the scene.
