SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Scott County Sheriff's Office tells us the man killed was 25-year old Seth Gibson from Lexington.

Police told WKYT's Sean Evans that the car he was in was driving into Scott County, where Paynes Depot turns into WeisenBerger Mill Road, when it left the road and crashed into a tree-lined ditch.

Police said a woman riding in the back seat told them three people were inside the car when it crashed. Investigators said the woman did not know the man driving.
Police believe he fled the scene and they are currently trying to locate him.

"At this point we just don't know who was the driver. I know there was at least two people in the vehicle, and that the female exited the vehicle and made the call about the wreck," said Capt. Jearl Porter with the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was able to get out of the car and walk away from the accident. She walked half a mile to a house to get help.

We're told she was taken to UK Hospital for treatment.

Police have not yet said what they believe caused the crash, and add toxicology reports are pending.
