Woman finds sister dead outside home

A death investigation is underway after a woman found her sister dead late Tuesday afternoon on the porch of a home on Ridgecrest Road near Lancaster.

Investigators say 47-year-old Angie Salata was found outside on her porch by her sister, Kathy. We're told that no one has spoken to Salata since Saturday evening. Police believe her body may have been outside for days.

"Right now, we're working with State Police to try and see what all occurred here. Some of the things outside are not matching up with things going on inside so we are working with them to try and get answers for the family," explains Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge.

We're told that Salata has two children, ages 12 and 15, they are in Chicago visiting their father for the summer.

"This is such a horrible situation," explains longtime neighbor Lois Roberts, "her daughter plays with my daughters all the time, we use to see her often. This is so sad. I can only imagine what her family is going through right now."

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Funeral arrangements set for Estill County teen
