Woman injured in violent crash dies

A woman is dead after a violent crash.

The Laurel County Sheriff tells 27 Newsfirst the crash happened at the junction of Ky 363 and Maple Grove Road.

Police say that 60-year old Tommie Johnson of Berea tried to make a turn in her Chevy Cavalier, when she pulled into the path of a Dodge Durango.

Emergency crews had to cut open the car to get Johnson out of it. Crews rushed Johnson to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

19-year old Charles Joseph, who was driving the Durango, received minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph London for treatment.
