LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - From paintings, to pottery, to jewelry to live music, there's something for everyone at the Woodland Art Fair.
For 39 years, the Lexington Art League and Lexington Parks and Recreation have teamed up to put on the fair at Woodland Park every summer.
This year, fair organizers received over 500 artist booth applications but only 200 artists made the cut.
"Each artist has to submit four photos, four pieces of their work, as well as a booth shot," says Kelly Karbowicz of the Lexington Art League. "Professionalism as well as high quality work are part of the elements that go into the fair."
Of the lucky 200 artists this year, Sara Turner of Cricket Press, made the cut.
"Last year we were a part of the big tent and that's a way of introducing new artists to their environment," says Turner. "We had such an amazing time and good experience that we were totally on board this year."
The art fair continues on Sunday from 10:00-5:00 and is free to attend. Free parking is also available at several locations downtown with shuttles that run every ten minutes.
Even though it's a year away, organizers say they're already preparing for next year - the 40th anniversary of the art fair.
Woodland Park is located at 601 East High Street in Lexington.
