LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight, a central Kentucky group reached out to the more than five hundred people being laid off from lexmark.
Startup Advantage held a workshop at West Sixth Brewery to help those folks who are interested in starting their own businesses.
Organizers of the workshop say it's important to keep as many of those former Lexmark employees in the Bluegrass as possible.
"We want to get them out, just seeing what the entrepreneur and start up communities are doing. There's probably a lot of people, that they aren't even aware are here in town doing things. Some of them might have their own aspirations and ideas about doing things," said Randall Stevens, from Startup Advantage.
We're told another goal of tonights workshop was to help former Lexmark employees network with entrepreneurs, already working in Lexington.
