Kentucky Coal Association confirms at least 500 Arch Coal layoffs

Bill Bissett with the Kentucky Coal Association confirms more than 500 miners will be laid off as part of a series of cuts by Arch Coal across the state.

Several county judge-executives have told our sister station, WYMT, they
have been contacted about proposed layoffs across the region Thursday.

Officials with Arch Coal say they won't release more information until after 5 p.m.
