BROOKLYN, Ny. - Former Kentucky guard James young was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 17th overall selection in the 2014 NBA Draft. Young is the 15th first round NBA Draft choice since John Calipari's arrival in Lexington. Young made the Final Four all-tournament team and was a second team ALL-SEC choice. Young averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and finished second in UK single-season freshman history with 82 made 3-pointers on the season. Young was also named MVP by the Bluegrass Sports Commission in UK's 73-66 win over UofL game after recording 18 points, a season-best 10 rebounds and four assists.
