Police say they just had to follow the indentation left in the road by a stolen piece of railroad track in order to catch up with the thieves.

57-year-old Brenda Harmon and 51-year-old Carl Moses of Williamsburg along with 21-year-old Eric Brooks of Rockholds and 52-year-old Janie Lawson of Tunnel Hill, Georgia were all arrested in Williamsburg after police say they admitted to stealing a 20 foot long section of railroad track in hopes of selling it at the local scrap yard.

The foursome apparently couldn't get the metal loaded into their vehicle so they chose to drag it behind the vehicle.

Police caught up with them at an area scrap yard. They were arrested and are each being held on a $5,000 cash bond in the Whitley County Detention Center.
